A new alert was issued by investigators as they try to track down Eric William Broome, 26, who has a lengthy criminal history and is now a fugitive after failing to appear in court following his arrest in Las Vegas.

The Waldorf resident was arrested in August 2023 during a domestic dispute and was released days later by a judge, who ordered him to wear an ankle bracelet.

A protective order was also obtained for the woman he allegedly assaulted, an order he would violate in November last year in Garrett County.

According to the sheriff's office, it was later determined that Broome was on parole as of June 6, 2022, after he pleaded guilty in 2015 for attempted second-degree murder from a case that was tried in Charles County.

In December 2023, Broome was taken back in custody by US Marshals in Las Vegas following a brief foot pursuit as he again attempted to avoid his arrest, though he was apprehended and extradited back to Charles County.

On Jan. 10, Broome was served with a warrant for parole violation; however, two days later, a judge released him on electronic monitoring.

Since then, his whereabouts have been unknown, according to the sheriff's office.

On Thursday, May 2, Broome failed to appear in Circuit Court and another bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

Broome is now wanted in connection with multiple offenses including failing to appear in court for first-degree assault, false imprisonment, and violation of probation.

Anyone with information regarding Broome or his whereabouts has been asked to contact investigators by calling (301) 752-9258.
